Autumn meetup 2026

SIGCHI Austria Autumn Meeting colocated with uxcon vienna

The SIGCHI Austria autumn meeting will take place on September 16, 2026, alongside uxcon vienna at the University of Vienna. 

We are glad to bring the chapter meeting into the same space as one of Austria’s main UX events.  HCI research and UX practice share a long history, but they do not always meet often enough. This event is a chance to change that, at least for a day.

A shared part of the program will be a keynote by Elizabeth Churchill, Professor and founding Department Chair of Human Computer Interaction at MBZUAI and former UX executive at Google, eBay, and Yahoo. Her talk will address how AI changes the relationship between people, systems, and design.

Note: Attendance to the SIGCHI Austria fall chapter meeting is free for all SIGCHI Austria members. No conference ticket is required, this is a separate meet-up which joins the conference for the keynote and the breaks.

After the keynote, the chapter meeting will continue with research presentations and discussion. uxcon attendees will be welcome to join SIGCHI sessions, listen in, and take part in the conversation. Some internal discussions will be limited to chapter members.

The fall meeting will be a full-day event with limited spaces.
